Plant: | The Vetiver is a perennial plant with a straight stem and grass-like leaves. It is botanically related to the plants that produce Citronella and Lemongrass. Vetiver has a scented complex white root system that is used in the making of the essential oil. |
Oil: |
The Vetiver plant is first established for two years to build up the oil contained in the root system, as they are not heavily laden. The roots are then dried and cut up for distillation. The resulting oil is dark brown in colour. |
