Plant: This perennial herb grows bushy and strong, reaching up to 90 cm in height (3 feet). It has a hairy stem and large down covered leaves, with white- purple flowers escaping from a tall spike. When broken the leaves omit the familiar fragrance of Patchouli oil.
Oil:

The oil Patchouli is distilled from the young leaves after they have been dried. It is a unusual oil due to the fact that it matures with age, becoming stronger and more aromatic.

Scent: Strong, earthy and sweet.
